What do you think about the stay at home (lockdown) period or how do you feel about it?
I guess you're one of those thinking it's a boring and bad time; you don't like it and wish it stopped right now so everyone could return to their offices, schools (classrooms), workshops, etc.
Hmm... That must be very thoughtful of you. At least you are interested in getting busy.
The world needs people like you!
THE BELIEF
In this post, I'll project more, the belief of Going Back To School To Complete Education and Utilizing The Lockdown period.
A lot of people are in the belief that "people/children need to go back to school to complete their EDUCATION"
Really?
Is that true?
Do you support that?
What do you think?
Well, this strikes up a question in me; What really is Education?
WHAT EDUCATION REALLY IS
From the Wiktionary; Education is:
etymology ▼
(IPA): /ˌɛdʒʊˈkeɪʃn/
noun
1. (uncountable) The process or art of imparting knowledge, skill, and judgment.
A good education is essential for a well-run society.
2. (countable) Facts, skills, and ideas that have been learned, either formally or informally.
a. He has had a classical education.
b. The educations our children receive depends on their economic status.
Can this be archived during the lockdown period? Let's find out!
Yes and yes I just had to copy out the definitions so you could see for yourself what education means, how it is used, and how it works.
There are other definitions for education and you might want to go check them out.
What more can I say?
HOW WE LEARN
So many are used to this phrase "we learn every day" and for me, I believe it. Do you? I guess you do. ( point 1 )
"People need to go back to school to complete their education" ( point 2 )
When you say you or others need to go back to school to "complete your/their education" and you join others to believe the notion that "we learn every day, are you not trying to deepen your state of confusion and establish one for your listeners?
Think about this again.
A missing word can cause a lot of damage.
Just one word introduced into that sentence can create a whole new idea, meaning, and correct a wrong belief.
Let's try out something immediately.
How well do you know and use the word "Formal"?
If you're good with it then it should ring a bell, pointing to where I am headed.
Let's take the definition of "Formal"
etymology ▼
1. Being in accord with established forms. She spoke formal English, without any dialect.
2. Official. I'd like to make a formal complaint.
3. Relating to the form or structure of something. Formal linguistics ignores the vocabulary of languages and focuses solely on their grammar.
4. Relating to the formation. The formal stage is a critical part of any child's development.
5. Ceremonial or traditional.
Formal wear must be worn at my wedding!
6. Proper, according to strict etiquette; not casual. He's always very formal, and I wish he'd relax a bit.
7. Organized; well-structured and planned. When they became a formal club the rowers built a small boathouse.
There you go with what the word "Formal" is about and in fact, the sixth definition explains more where I'm headed.
Formal, having to do with following Proper, according to strict etiquette; not casual. and Education being:
(countable) Facts, skills, and ideas that have been learned, either formally or informally.
a. He has had a classical education.
b. The educations our children receive depends on their economic status.
Here we can understand that education can be acquired "formally and informally"
Therefore by saying "we learn every day", you are saying we acquire formal or/and informal education every day; and this opens up the fact that Education can be acquired anywhere, anytime and it is not dependent, solely on the four walls of a classroom and by that we or others don't need to go back to school to complete our/their education as education cannot even be completed because "we learn every day".
What we/others need (which I'm not even sure if it is really a need) is going to school to complete "formal" education.
If you follow this calculation correctly then you've just been delivered from a wrong belief that was caused by a missing word.
ACQUIRE INFORMAL EDUCATION
What do you think of the acquisition of "informal" education"?
By "informal education" here I mean the acquisition of knowledge outside the classroom/school.
Have you ever thought about life after school?
Maybe yes and maybe not.
If you have then, you will have a better feeling and understanding of how much you need the stay at home period.
We have a great number of "formally educated" people scattered on the surface of the earth, right? Or do you know the actual number? If you do I will like you to tell me.
Definitely not. The number of graduated people should triple the number of opportunities we have available.
Bear it in mind that as we speak, a great number is warming up to graduate too.
Now my question: Where are the white-collar-job vacancies these people are coming for, expecting to occupy?
What do you think of maximizing the opportunity in the stay at home period?
Wouldn't it have been a time to secure for yourself an island?
Does that even ring any bell?
MAXIMIZING THE OPPORTUNITY IN THE PERIOD
In case it didn't occur to you how useful this period could be for you, then this post serves as an eye-opener to you.
For students in schools, there is a lot of informal education you could acquire this period which will secure you a fortune in the future.
I won't advise you to go get a fulltime job now.
Really? Did I really say that? But we all need to make money since we are idle.
Yes I know we all need money but you wouldn't have made them all, had you been in the classroom or office.
But isn't this supposed to be an opportunity?
Yes, it is an opportunity but not to make all the money you need.
It is more of an opportunity to acquire a skill that will fetch you the money.
One thing about skill acquisition is, it keeps the money in your pocket.
There are so many human needs to meet, and meeting a need with your skill, you can get the money.
Please take off your mind from depending on white-collar-jobs; they may not come when you need them but your skills can always stand by your side.
You might say you already have a skill; Great! If you do, then make all the money.
Trust me, I salute you out there who has acquired skill or more. You have already secured for yourself and the island.
But if you have not acquired a skill set, then grab this opportunity to acquire one or more.
Don't let this opportunity go to waste; utilize it wisely.
Did you notice how precise that went?
Now you are in the right understanding and idea of what to do.
